Tennoji Zoo is the largest wild animal sanctuary in Osaka

Tennji Zoo is located in the large Tennji Park in the heart of downtown Osaka. This is an area that simulates the tropical grasslands of Africa surrounded by rocky mountains. Even the road has the presence of rocky mountains. It makes you feel like you are in the setting of an authentic tropical grassland. There are many diverse animals such as deer, rhinoceros, giraffes... there are sheep, goats, guinea pigs are among the many herbivores being cared for and raised here. These are very gentle animals you can get close to them and feed them as well as touch these lovely animals directly. The zoo also has an area with an Asian rainforest. Here, visitors can encounter mischievous monkeys from mainland Asia, koalas and protected red-listed kiwi birds from the islands of Australia.
