Later, burlesque blends the music of opera, operatta, music hall, and some of the more ambitious shows whose original music was composed specifically for the burlesque. This British style of burlesque was successfully introduced to New York in the 1840s. The burlesque dance class will be led by a local burlesque expert, and students will be guided from choosing the right outfit to glamorous makeup to a choreography to dance at night. The focus of this short (3 hour) class is fun, students can present their results on a private stage and celebrate with a glass of champagne. This dance will bring a new self-discovery for women, especially those who are still shy, ideal for small groups.
