St. Pauli

“World famous for its football club and Reeperbahn, St. Pauli has even more to discover for visitors.”

Reeperbahn, football club St. Pauli and the harbor: these major attractions have shaped the St. Pauli of today - unique, loud, flashy, comfortable and colorful. When it comes to famous residents of St. Pauli, the famous band The Beatles will be the first to be mentioned. Visit Beatlesplatz and see where the band began their stellar career.

Since the sixties, music has played an important part in St. Pauli. The annual Reeperbahn in September is the perfect way to get an overview of the neighborhood's diverse live music venues. Join in to see some great international artists as well as up-and-coming bands from vibrant young local. St. Pauli is also the site of the Schlagermove Parade, which attracts up to half a million partygoers each year to promote this popular German music genre (which is often a bit confusing for non-Germans).

Next to the massive St.Pauli bunker you'll find the Heiligeneistfeld square, where the Hamburg DOM, Northern Germany's largest fun fair, is held three times a year. Close to the Elbe river, at Landungsbrücken pier, tourists often enjoy fish sandwiches and watch boats go by. From there, begin your ferry journey across the south bank of the river. The Old Elbe Tunnel is a beautiful landscape that offers many great photo opportunities.

North of Landungsbrücken is the Planten un Blomen park, which welcomes visitors and walkers with a green landscape. Right in the middle of the city, the Japanese garden, minigolf and ice rink in the park make it a perfect relaxing place for everyone.
