Coming to Mai Vien Homestay & Restaurant , you will not only participate in a simple cooking class, but also embark on a journey to discover the flavors and culture of the ancient capital of Hue . In the space of a traditional house in the middle of a cool green garden, you will personally make the dough to make rice paper, wrap each Hue spring roll, and prepare the quintessential dishes of the capital.

What to expect

You will learn to cook dishes such as Nem Cắm Mình Công (the signature dish – making rice paper and rolling spring rolls), Spring Flower Soup (Lagim), Hue-style fig salad, Grilled chicken with lime leaves, Sticky rice & lotus rice, and fresh fruit for dessert.
You can choose 2–3 dishes to learn, but spring rolls are mandatory (to practice from the basics).

The class is held in a traditional Hue Ruong house, with a lush garden and premium facilities.
Here, you can not only learn to cook authentic Hue cuisine but also immerse yourself in a royal-inspired space, with experiences such as wearing traditional costumes for outdoor photoshoots, and conveniently visiting nearby imperial tombs and pagodas.

Additional info

  • Guests will learn 2-3 dishes , of which the dish of spring rolls with peacock meat is mandatory .

  • Classes are suitable for all ages; children must be accompanied by an adult.

  • Please advise in advance if you have any special requests regarding vegetarian/dietary/food allergies.
