Fashion is more than just style — it's a dynamic system impacting our lives, creativity, and the planet. In this engaging summer course, students will discover the power of fashion in everyday life, honing their creativity and filmmaking skills to tell compelling stories. We'll explore the complex world of fast versus sustainable fashion and delve into diverse fabrics and performance textiles, including nature-based engineering for protection. Get ready for hands-on experience by making use of found objects in upcycling projects, transforming old into new. The journey culminates with an immersive Journey Through Vietnamese Fashion and Culture at Hồ Chí Minh City's Áo Dài Museum, where you'll explore the Áo Dài's rich history, participate in a photoshoot, and showcase your designs in a video competition.

+ Students will explore the history, evolution, and symbolism of the Vietnamese áo dài, discovering how traditional culture can inspire sustainable and innovative designs today.
+ Activity 1: Visiting Ao dai Museum and listening to the story of Ao dai (history, meaning, and evolving design of the Ao dai)
+ Activity 2: Dress Ao dai and wear designed accessories
+ Activity 3: Photoshoot and film making to introduce Ao dai
+ Activity 4: Ao dai show and video competition
+ Students must bring their student card and study materials appropriate to the course.
