The 845-hectare Tra Su Cajuput Forest (planted in the 80s) is a stunning destination for nature lovers. Explore the forest’s unique ecosystem, glide through emerald-green waterways by boat and rowing sampan, and witness seasonal flocks of birds. The tour also includes visits to a sugar palm field, the best rice fields in the Mekong Delta, and a peaceful Khmer pagoda.
At 08:00, our journey begins with a pickup from your hotel in Can Tho. Relax and enjoy the scenic drive as you head towards Tra Su Forest.
On the way, savor the refreshing taste of sugar palm juice while soaking in the beautiful Chau Doc countryside views. Visit one of the most picturesque rice fields (seasonal) in the region, perfect for photography and learning about local farming practices. Stop by a peaceful Khmer pagoda, a serene and culturally significant site, before continuing to the forest.
Upon arrival, your guide will assist with tickets, and your exploration begins. Hop onto a motorboat for a 20-minute ride through the lush waterway, taking in the vibrant greenery that surrounds you.
From the motorboat, transfer to a traditional rowing sampan for an intimate 30-minute ride through the tranquil canals. This is your chance to observe the incredible biodiversity of the forest, from seasonal flocks of birds to the stunning emerald-green duckweed covering the waters.
After your sampan ride, return to the motorboat and head deeper into the forest. A short 500-meter walk leads you to the 25-meter observation tower, where you'll be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views over the cajuput forest, the surrounding mountains, and flocks of birds soaring in the distance.
Next, cross the bamboo walking bridge, a serene spot where you can immerse yourself in the beauty of the forest.
Conclude your forest adventure with a local lunch at a restaurant nestled within the forest, offering fresh, authentic dishes. Relax and enjoy the sounds of nature before your journey back.
After lunch, your driver will take you back to Can Tho or drop you off in Chau Doc, depending on your preferred drop-off point. (L)
