Welcome to Ho Chi Minh City, a vibrant metropolis where history intertwines with modernity. Embark on a journey of discovery as we explore the iconic Cu Chi Tunnels and the lively streets of this remarkable city, experiencing its unique blend of rich heritage and dynamic present.
Your adventure begins at 8:00 AM. Depart early to beat the crowds at Cu Chi, driving through the urban landscape as you head out of the city.
Spend a few hours exploring the rugged grounds of Cu Chi with a local guide. Learn how residents crafted an intricate underground network of tunnels during the recent wars. If you choose, you can crawl into the tunnels to see the tiny chambers, imagining what life was like for those who lived there. Once above ground, observe the clever traps and camouflaged pits used for defense.
Throughout the tour, your guide will share insights into the impact of war on the local community and the nation. After this enlightening visit, return to Ho Chi Minh City for lunch.
Following lunch, visit one of the city’s most famous landmarks—the Reunification Palace. Preserved in a time capsule, the palace’s war rooms and lavish displays offer a fascinating glimpse into the past.
Next, take a leisurely stroll through the beautiful 30 April Park to the Central Post Office. Here, you can also see the former CIA building, notable for being the site of one of the last helicopter evacuations in 1975.
Wrap up your day at the historic Ben Thanh Market, a bustling local market that continues to serve the community while welcoming travelers with a variety of stalls.
With a deeper understanding of Saigon's culture and history, you’ll return to your hotel or continue to your next destination.
Note: In the hot season months, we recommend departing earlier than the suggested time, in order to avoid the heat.
