Schwedenplatz, a square located in central Vienna, Austria. Schwedenplatz is located on the right bank of the Danube, and is one of Vienna's most important traffic points. From here, you can travel by metro, bus, tram or river cruise. Schwedenplatz has a long history, named after the country of Sweden. Previously, this place was Ferdinandplatz, but was renamed after World War I, to thank Sweden for sending aid to Austria. At Schwedenplatz you can see many old and new structures, such as the Danube Tower, the Millenium Tower, the Urania-Sternwarte - Kinder Train Museum and many more. Schwedenplatz is a cultural site worth a visit when in Vienna. You can get here by public transport, such as subway, bus. You can also park in the Am Stadtpark car park or the Weihburggasse car park. The area around the square is a short-term parking area from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
