Museum depicting the history of Pacific and Arctic exploration

Vancouver Maritime Museum is designed with special architecture like overlapping waves with stacked triangular blocks.

Today, the museum houses more than 15,000 objects that have been contributed primarily by the community, and they all reflect Vancouver's maritime history and heritage. They are like boats carrying the spirit of ocean exploration from the past to the present, preserving and spreading, passing on knowledge to the next generation.

The most impressive item on display is the Arctic expedition ship called St. Roch is made from fir wood, is able to withstand ice and large waves so it was once used to circumnavigate the North Pole. Besides, the outdoor exhibitions are also quite attractive with models of handcrafted ships or submersibles to study the seabed called Ben Franklin.
