Independence Monument or Golden Warrior Monument is located in Almaty Republic Square. The design is inspired by Kazakh folklore. An archaeological discovery in 1969 demonstrates that a monument simulating an 18-year-old Saka or Scythian aristocrat in the second or third century BC is buried in a suit of gold armor with a vault of gold. large, earning the nickname "Golden Man" for the main character of the monument, who stands on a 91-foot pole with a proud demeanor representing the independence of Kazakhstan.
At the foot of the monument is an ensemble of statues including the Sage (Heaven), Mother (Earth) and two children on the backs of war horses. The Kazakhs have a proverb “The mother earth begins with a family” and this is exactly the idea that the monument builders wanted to convey and convey. Indeed, the family is the foundation of every state in this country. There are also ten reliefs that outline the entire history of Kazakhstan.
Conceptualized by a group of renowned Kazakh architects led by Shota Valihanov, the golden warrior monument also depicts the rich history of Kazakhstan from the time of Queen Tomiris to the present day. The monument was inaugurated on December 16, 1996 and is located next to the Presidential Palace, Akimat House and many other important monuments in the city.
