Profile
KPF's Lotte World Tower in Seoul has been officially completed, following the criteria set by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat. The building contains everything necessary for modern urban living. Rising into the air at 555 meters tall, the tower has 123 floors, making it home to Korea's tallest observatory, Seoul Sky.
KPF's design features a modern aesthetic with forms inspired by the historical art of Korean ceramics, porcelain, and calligraphy. The tower's unbroken curvature and gently tapered shape reflect Korean art. The ramp runs from top to bottom of the structure towards the old center of the city. Elegance in form was one of the top goals, according to the contractor's desire to bestow a beautiful monument to the skyline of the capital city. The outer material is light-tone silver glass accented by a white lacquered metal border. The design of the building is LEED Gold certified, a measure of the group's commitment to environmental responsibility. Sustainable elements incorporated into the design include photovoltaic panels, wind turbines, exterior shading devices and water collection systems.
Lotte World was designed and built at the same time as a 10-storey facility with a large capacity, providing retail shopping and entertainment services to more than 28 million people annually, equivalent to one in two Koreans. will or have been to Lotte World. It contains retail stores, offices, a 7-star luxury hotel and an officetel. Officetels, popular in Korean real estate, offer studio apartment-style accommodation for people who work in the building and often have certain services found in hotels, such as furniture, security desks, etc. protection, and gym access. The top 10 floors of the building are specially used for public and recreational facilities, including an observatory, a cafe and a rooftop restaurant.
