Profile
The owner of the Rennie museum - Bob Rennie is a well-known real estate businessman and art collector, and he is one of those who amass a collection of contemporary art works. Canada's largest.
In 2009, Bob Rennie opened the museum of the same name at the Wing Sang building with 4 years of construction and $10 million in funding. At the Rennie museum, there is no permanent exhibition that will change and most works are taken from the owner's collection. Besides, the museum also organizes exhibitions for artists with the same orientation about art for society and current issues.
One of the notable exhibitions is organized by contemporary black artist Kerry James Marshall. He spoke out about the injustice towards black people in society in general and in the arts in particular.
The museum is open to the public free of charge and is a good place for those who want to see works of art in a more social aspect.
