Profile
Dai Doan Ket Square was built in a location in the center of Pleiku city with a very large campus, full of trees, so it has become a venue for many great local activities. The center of the big square is the statue of President Ho Chi Minh made of pure copper, the skeleton is made of stainless steel, about 10.8 meters high, standing on a concrete pedestal covered with green stone 4.5 meters high, weighing about 16 ton. This monument was made by sculptor Nguyen Ba Dua in two years according to modern forced technology. When coming closer to admire, visitors will be amazed by the artist's meticulous and delicate carving materials and ability. This is considered the largest statue of Uncle Ho in Vietnam and of course also the largest in the world. Behind the President statue, visitors will be able to see first-hand a series of reliefs simulating a lotus flower whose height varies from 9 meters to 13.5 meters, 62 meters long stylized by curved stone, along with skillful carvings about the daily life, production and battle of the people here. Besides, visitors will be surprised by two sets of giant Central Highlands gongs with diameters ranging from 1.1m to 2m located on the right and left of the relief. The Central Highlands gongs are hung on natural basalt pillars, balanced on both sides of the monument, creating a unique cultural imprint of the Central Highlands ethnic minorities next to Uncle Ho's statue. Another impressive point is that the campus of Dai Doan Ket Square is modeled like Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi capital. In front of the monument are lawns that are trimmed into squares interspersed with granite to form a beautiful path that is suitable for walking and strolling.
