Although this is a complex of restaurants and bars, each place is delicately designed to create a separate atmosphere for each area. The owner of the bar, Kuan Chen, is from Tainan and has many years of experience working in the food industry. His point of view is that he wants to introduce to friends around the world a cheerful and friendly Taiwan image through the restaurant's signature cocktails and dishes. With that spirit, Chen has dedicated a sizable area to the kitchen and bartender for his employees to unleash their creativity. The bar features 20 original cocktails, created using traditional Taiwanese spices and spirits. Each cocktail has its own story and is illustrated through humorous illustrations on the menu. You can try a special cocktail combining a famous ice cream in Tainan and asparagus juice, which is one of the signature dishes of the restaurant.

Located in Jiaxing Street (Jiaxing), R&D attracts customers by a special design and decoration: no signs or windows, only a minimalist logo with dim light reflecting through. The logo represents the chemical formula of Ethanol, C₂H₆O. The bar is aimed at discerning customers and has an endless passion for cocktails. The bar's bartender is professionally trained to be able to create hundreds of cocktails, based on the needs, preferences, and moods of customers because the bar does not have a menu.
