Profile
The current Kon Klor communal house is 17m long, 6m wide and the roof height is 22m, 1m higher than the old communal house. Other common communal houses are only 10 meters long, more than 4 meters wide, and 15-20 meters high, so the Kon Klor communal house is considered one of the largest communal houses in Kon Tum. The communal house is designed in a traditional style with materials made entirely of wood, paintings, bamboo, cork, leaves with delicate patterns and motifs typical of the Ba Na ethnic group. In particular, the entire new pillar and floor are made of rotating wood - a rare wood. The roof of Kon Klor's communal house consists of two main roofs and two auxiliary roofs in the shape of an isosceles triangle, small and solid, which is considered a fulcrum for the village soul and the pride of Ba Na artisans. According to the concept of ethnic minorities in the Central Highlands, the communal house is a community house, used to receive valuable guests to visit the village and also a meeting place of the village elders' council and of the village community. the place where major festivals of the village community are held such as: new rice festival, traditional festival of the village, etc., so the higher the roof of the Rong house, the more it shows the wealth, prosperity, affluence, and mightiness of the village. .
Stepping to Kon Klor village, the first thing visitors notice is that the village is covered with an immense green color, starting from the tamarind trees along the way, to the sugarcane field, the vegetable garden… In Ba Na language, Kon is "village", and K'lor is "forest hill" - Kon Klor village means "forest cotton village" because in the past there were many wild cottonwood trees around the village. Besides the Kon Klor Rong house, Kon Klor village is also one of the villages of the Ba Na people that still preserves the traditional craft of brocade weaving. Brocade of Kon Klor village has delicate patterns, soft lines and harmonious colors, not too bright and ostentatious like industrial woven brocade. Coming here, visitors will easily encounter Ba Na village girls with slightly brown skin, healthy, graceful, sitting hard by the loom, skillfully putting each thread. Visitors can try the experience of transforming into village girls who sit hard by the loom and weave a brocade for themselves. Or visitors can find other small and beautiful souvenirs such as communal house, t'rung, basket... Although the items are small, they have been breathed in by Ba Na artisans, rustic but full of space. The life of Kon Klor villagers is gentle and likable.
