With a solid design and high pressure, the architecture of the National Museum of Science and Technology is shaped with the purpose of use for hundreds of years, expressing the connotations of Science and Technology. Using intelligent information equipment with scientific management, this multi-functional building is a place to display and introduce advanced scientific and technological achievements. The system produces and stores ice at night for use during the day, contributing to the dispersion of electricity used during peak hours. One of the highlights of the museum is the design with the giant spiral slide, which spans 27 meters in height and 63 meters in length. As one of the highest slides in Asia, it only takes 16 seconds to descend to the basement from the 6th floor. You can experience life as an astronaut at the Air and Aerospace exhibition, where the surface of The moon is simulated in the most vivid way.
Opened to visitors since November 1997, the museum is not only an outstanding institution of social education but also the first and largest applied science museum in Taiwan. The museum includes several permanent galleries and three themed galleries (Open Sesame, Air Navigation and Aerospace, LOHAS Energy Conservation House) as well as a 3D IMAX theater. The exhibitions focus on the formation and development of technology related to Taiwan's industries and economic development. You will learn more about the principles, procedures and applications of technology, and their effects on economic and social development. Many exhibitions provide visitors with knowledge and fun not only through observation but also through actual experiences, contributing to enlightenment, opening a new horizon of knowledge through the wonders of technology.

Ticket price to visit the museum:

+ Children (3-17 years old) : NT$ 11
+ Seniors (over 60 years old) : NT$ 13
+ Free admission for children aged 2 and under.
The museum is open from 09.00 AM to 04.00 PM (closed every Monday). From Kaohsiung Station, you can take bus number 73 to the National Museum of Science and Technology.
