Epics from all over Japan and around the world are paying attention to Den. Customers can enjoy creative dishes based on traditional Japanese cuisine and presented with a sense of excitement. The specialties are 'Monaka Foie gras' with seasonal fruit and tsukemono and stuffed chicken wings "Dentucky". This is a Tokyo twist on kaiseki cuisine for a new era.
Dubbed one of the 50 best restaurants in the world, reservations at the Den in Harajuku respectively are difficult to secure. This is a restaurant with kaiseki (traditional and high-class Japanese cuisine). This creative restaurant is suitable for a special occasion because it will be one of the best meals of your life. The Den restaurant in Jingumae near Harajuku needs almost no introduction. Chef Hasegawa serves up innovative, modern dishes fused with classic kaiseki cuisine. Instead of sticking to the elegant, sophisticated but often personal tradition of high-end kaiseki cuisine, Hasegawa delivers a personal enhancement in Japanese home cooking. He draws on diverse influences, both homegrown and acquired during his travels abroad, but always on key ingredients from the ocean, grasslands and forests. There's nothing like eating at Den. The food is superbly prepared, the staff are welcoming, friendly and most importantly the bar is fun and relaxing, unlike most other expensive restaurants in Tokyo. You might even get to meet the chef's dog, Puchi Jr.! Some of the signature dishes at Den include salads - always with a carrot slice with a smiley face engraved on it - and a delightfully stuffed foie gras monaka. We also love the Dentucky Fried Chicken, a clear KFC imitation of breaded fried chicken. What's inside changes with the seasons; Think fusions like sticky rice and turtle meat, or some kind of mushroom. Hasegawa says that his aim is to see his customers leave with a smile on their face. An essential ingredient to achieving this is the welcome and service provided by Den's catering team, which was recognized in 2017 with the "Asia's Best Restaurant" Award. In 2019, it goes one step further when it wins the award as Top 50 Best Restaurants in the World, sponsored by Legle.
If you can only go to one Michelin-starred restaurant in Tokyo, try Den. Reservations here are essential but also extremely difficult to secure - they only take reservations a month in advance of your intended date
