An Binh tree house is a tourist attraction because of the special architecture of a house surrounded by branches and roots of an ancient banyan tree. The house is an old abandoned warehouse of a factory, built of ordinary bricks. Although the roof is gone, other parts such as the floor and windows still retain its original character. Come visit An Binh tree house, prepare a smartphone or camera to take great check-in photos.

After the Qing government signed the Treaty of Tientsin in June 1858, Anping was one of the ports in Taiwan that was opened to international trade. In 1867, the trading company Tait & Co, which specializes in exporting granulated sugar and camphor, built a large warehouse in the center of present-day An Binh district. Under Japanese rule since 1895, due to new economic policies forced foreign companies to leave the territory of Taiwan. In 1911, the warehouse was used as the office and warehouse of the Japan Salt Company. Under the Republic of China, the warehouse was abandoned and surrounded by branches and roots of ancient banyan trees. In 2004, the Tainan city government decided to restore it as a tourist destination. Wooden stairs and observatories have been built to serve the sightseeing needs of tourists.

After more than a hundred years of transformation, the wall of the warehouse was covered with dense, towering treetops. This unusual appearance gives the An Binh tree house a thrilling, mysterious look, similar to the image of Siem Reap's famous Ta Prohm temple. The gaps between the trees form a perfect path for visitors and from here you can also easily move back and forth between the old treetops. It is also a special habitat for wildlife such as squirrels and birds.

Stepping inside the house, you will be surprised to see rows of roots and ancient tree trunks filling the ancient walls and windows. A feeling full of ghosts but extremely interesting. When you have the opportunity to visit Tainan city, you should not miss this attraction, where you will surely have a series of virtual live photos, check-in in a charming, ghostly space.

This attraction is open from 08.30 AM to 05.30 PM, weekdays, entrance fee is NT50.
