Lam Kinh Festival is held annually on the 22nd day of the 8th lunar month every year at Lam Kinh historical relic site, located in Tho Xuan district, Thanh Hoa province. About 50km from Thanh Hoa city to the west. Lam Kinh is known as the hometown of the hero Le Loi, who raised the flag of rebellion against the invading Ming army. In 1428, he ascended the throne to establish the Le dynasty with the reign of King Le Thai To. After the death of King Le Thai To, it was stipulated that every 3 years on the death anniversary of the kings and mandarins, the Le king in Dong Kinh Thang Long returned to Lam Kinh to perform a ceremony. After 1995, Lam Kinh festival was held regularly every year, with more and more grandiose scale.

The ceremony is performed in accordance with the traditional rites that take place at the Dragon yard, with the festival drums, the procession to the stage, the sacrifices, the ancestors' foxes according to the traditional rituals, especially there are sacrifices. ceremony handed down from the time of King Le. The festival part is an art program by Thanh Hoa tuong art troupe that recreates many major events in the Le Dynasty. After that, cultural activities, sports, folk games, traditional sports with the martial spirit of the nation were held, attracting many attendees. Lam Kinh festival is maintained as a good tradition where the people of the country in general and Thanh Hoa in particular show their gratitude to the ancestors who have had merit in fighting foreign invaders and protecting the country's borders.
