Profile
For three weeks, Toronto was bursting with fast-paced, upbeat beats by Calypso, Soca, Reggae, Chutney, Steel Pan and Brass-style bands.
More than a million people flock to the streets and venues to dance with passionate dancers dressed in eye-catching and colorful costumes. The musical style combines mainly Calypso beats, which have been part of the festival since its first debut in 1967, and newer musical styles such as Soca.
The main events include the Carnival Ball and the Grand Parade (the largest Caribbean parade in North America).
