When it comes to Mumbai, many people will immediately think of Bollywood, so any tourist wants to visit this movie capital. The first feature-length film of Indian origin was produced by Dadasaheb Phalke, who is considered a pioneer of Indian Cinema. He produced the epic film Raja Harishchandra, a silent feature film starring all male actors because at that time women were not considered for acting work. The film was released in 1913.
In 1977, Late Shri V. Shantaram, Late Shri BR Chopra and legendary actor Dilip Kumar founded the Cinema Capital and was later renamed Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagari in 2001 in recognition of their contributions. Founder of Indian Cinema Industry. The Cinema Capital was inaugurated by then-Minister of Maharashtra, Mr. Yashwantrao Chavan. Since then, the Indian Film Industry has become home to the highest number of feature film production companies, followed by the Nigerian Film Industry, followed by Hollywood.
