The Inuit (or Eskimo) are an indigenous people of the glacial region ranging from Eastern Siberia (Russia), through Alaska (USA), Canada, and Greenland. The Inuit Art Gallery was established in 1979 as a place to display the artworks of Canadian Aboriginal people or rather the Inuit people of the Northwest coast or other Canadian artists in the heart of ancient Gastown. .

In addition to works from famous artists, Inuit is also a place to nurture young talents through the display of works by new artists. Thereby, introducing to visitors a new artistic perspective from ethnic minority artists. The sculptures on display at Inuit are all meticulously carved and the jewelry here is intricately designed but no less delicate.
