Hon Ba Mountain is compared with Da Lat because of its mild climate, primeval forest and high peaks with its own beauty.
Hon Ba mountain is 1,578m above sea level, bordering Khanh Phu commune (Khanh Vinh district) and Suoi Cat commune (Cam Lam district) of Khanh Hoa province.
You can come to Hon Ba in most seasons of the year. However, you should avoid the rainy season that lasts from October to December if you want to experience waterfalls, streams and mountain climbing.
It will take you about 2 hours to reach Hon Ba Peak from Nha Trang city. Follow Highway 1A towards Suoi Cat commune (Cam Lam district) for about 1km, you will see the first landmark only 37km to the mountain. The road to the mountain is quite rugged and narrow, with many steep slopes.
The closer you get to Hon Ba, the cooler you feel. The area is unspoiled, with plenty of wildlife and flowing streams. Old trees stood by the roadside, shaking their leaves amidst white clouds and fog.
Hon Ba is a wild area that has not been invested much in tourism, so you will have few options for food and accommodation services. Some households offer local dishes, such as boiled and grilled chicken, vegetable soup or stir-fried vegetables, but you must order in advance. Therefore, you should bring food and drink for the trip.
In terms of accommodation, you can ask to sleep with locals, rent a room in an area guesthouse or camp on top of the mountain. At night, it's much colder, so bring adequate warm blankets.
The top of Hon Ba is covered with white clouds all year round. From above, you can zoom out to the beautiful Nha Trang. In addition to the beautiful view, Hon Ba also gives you the opportunity to explore nature. Hearing birdsong and streams can soothe anyone's mind. Some young people often come here to take pictures of the old forest and see wild sunflowers in full bloom. Others come to enjoy the cool atmosphere and feel its mystery.
Hon Ba is said to be most beautiful at dawn, when the clouds are near the top of the mountain and the first sunlight hits the leaves. However, many people find the mountain more attractive when the sun goes down and the old forest begins to sleep. At any time, Hon Ba will always satisfy your passion to discover beauty.
