The Hungerburg Funicular . tugboat system

icon-locationInnsbruck, Austria
Due to Innsbruck's mountainous terrain in the mountains, there are several cable cars or tugs that are used as a mode of transportation. The Hungerburg Funicular is one of the most impressive and serves as transport between downtown Innsbruck and the Hungerburg district.

Instead of a cable car cabin, the Hungerburg Funicular is equipped with a modern monorail, and the main Parliament station has a striking and modern design. The Funicular's route goes over a bridge, through a tunnel and up a steep incline to reach Hungerburg 860 meters above sea level.

At the top, you're greeted with panoramic views of the heart of the Inn River Valley and across the Italian border.
