The amusement park awaits its guests with many unique interesting programs every day of the week. Courtyard has space for a multitude of activities, representing distinctive styles and providing a colorful experience for all generations. It attracts more than 900,000 visitors annually; Due to its cosmopolitan nature, the Gozsdu Courtyard has become extremely popular among both Budapest residents and tourists.
Gozsdu Courtyard has had a tumultuous past with its history dating back to the 20th century. Gozsdu Manó, a Romanian lawyer and benefactor, considers youth education and support to be its important mission. The planning and construction of the Gozsdu Courtyard began in 1900 by order of the Gozsdu Foundation, founded from the wealth of Gozsdu Manó, designed by Győző Czigler and opened in 1902, 30 years after Gozsdu's death. In those days, the courtyards of the center were filled with vibrant commercial life. During World War II, the Gozsdu Courtyard was part of the Budapest slums; UNESCO has declared it a part of world heritage.
In 2009, Amir Holding Kft. and Autoker Holding Zrt. completely renovated the building complex and restored the facade of the Gozsdu Courtyard to its original condition during the reconstruction.
Today, the courtyard is packed with crowds, centered on restaurants and bars such as the famous Spíler, Spíler Shanghai's sister business opposite, and Vicky Barcelona. At the end of the week, a flea market is set up. Gozsdu also has its own Escape Room, a glittering Christmas market, and guardians in every aisle.
