Van Trinh Cave is one of the most beautiful caves in Ninh Binh Vietnam. Those who have traveled to this cave have compared its beauty with Thien Cung Cave in Ha Long Bay.

The name Van Trinh describes a cave inside the mountain covered by clouds. Van Trinh cave is also known as Giang Tien cave (Fairy descends to earth).

Legend has it that the youngest daughter, the princess of the Jade Emperor, wanted to help people in the underworld give birth to healthy and beautiful children, so she fled to the underworld. She chose to take refuge in this cave because of the breathtaking scenery and built water tanks inside the cave. The water of the basins is always full and clear. After the princess returned to worship Heaven, the people living in this land built a shrine to commemorate the gentle fairy. Since then, the cave has been called Giang Tien or the fairy descending to earth. Legend has it that in the past, couples who had difficulty giving birth and were raising children came to the cave to ask for help. They often buy a piece of cloth, place an offering on it, and place it in front of the mouth of the cave and pray. The next day, when they returned to the cave, they did not find the piece of cloth. Instead, outside the mouth of the cave are the clothes of a newborn baby. They bring these clothes for their children with the hope that the children will be healthy.
