Presidential Palace (Rashtrapati Bhavan)

The official residence of the President of India, Rashtrapati Bhawan is one of Delhi's most prominent landmarks and also one of the largest Presidential residences in the world.

Built in the Edwardian Baroque style, the building is decorated with classical motifs symbolizing heritage and authority. Rashtrapati Bhawan covers 321 acres and has 340 rooms, including living rooms, offices, reception halls, stables and residences for staff and bodyguards.

Rashtrapati Bhawan was built in 1929, also known as the Presidential Mansion or Governor's Palace because it was formerly the residence of the British Governor-General. This architectural wonder was designed by Edward Lutyens and Herbert Baker and built over 17 years. The famous Mughal Garden occupies an area of ​​about 15 acres, has 159 varieties of roses, 60 varieties of bougainvillea and many other flowers. There is also a herbal garden, a spiritual garden, a deer park, a clock tower, etc. After passing through the front yard of the campus, visitors will encounter the Rampurva bull statue, which is the head of one of the pillars. built during the reign of King Ashokan in the 3rd century BC

The Rashtrapati Bhawan Museum Complex (RBMC) is also an interesting attraction. The main highlight is an old Presidential horse-drawn carriage pulled by life-sized horses. Visitors can also admire the Mercedes car that the King of Jordan gave to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. The on-site Gift Counter displays gifts received by the President from around the world. Some glass cabinets in the museum display personal belongings of the Presidents.

In addition, visitors can go to Gate 2 of the Presidential Palace every Saturday and Sunday, where the changing of the guard ceremony takes place. This ceremony takes place very solemnly, majesty and shows strength. Music was played throughout the event and beautiful, disciplined horses stood with the guards.
