Rome is a city with many world-famous fountains, but none is more amazing, or more famous than the Trevi Fountain. Trevi Fountain is located in the Trevi district in Rome, Italy, due to its architecture. Italian architect Nicola Salvi designed and finished by Pietro Bracci. 26.3 meters high and 49.15 meters wide, is the largest Baroque fountain in the city and one of the most famous fountains in the world.

The Trevi Fountain is the largest baroque fountain in Rome, and the eternal masterpiece of Nicola Salvi and Giuseppe Pannini. The fountain is named for its location at the junction of three roads ("tre vie").

Created primarily from Carrara limestone and marble, the fountain features a bearded Oceanus god riding on a scalloped chariot pulled by horses and two Triton deities. The statue of Abundance stands in the left corner of the wall waving her fruitful goat's horn, while on the opposite side is a laurel-clad statue holding a cup from which a snake drinks water. Garden enthusiasts will enjoy trying to spot 30 different species of plants carved into the fountain.

The source of the fountain is one of the water pipes built by the emperor Caesar Augustus and has been used since 17 BC, so the water is always clear and clean. A visit to the fountain cannot be complete without a splash of change in the water. It is said that one coin will make you return to visit Rome, two will make you fall in love with a Roman, and three will signal your wedding bells. Whether the above holds true or not, the fountain generates about $4,000 a day and every morning, coins are picked up and donated to a local charity.

If you have time, visit the fountain twice, once during the day to see the limestone glisten in the midday sun and once at night when the fountain is bathed in light yellow.

The Trevi Fountain is located in the center of Rome to the east of Via del Corso. The fountain is close to several other attractions including the Spanish Steps. Barberini tram station is a short walk from the fountain.
