“The lush green forest, the cliffs by the sea, and the beautiful sea with various shades of green – Taejongdae Resort Park becomes the ideal and must-visit place in Busan, whether sunny, Rain, spring, summer, winter or autumn, the scenery here is always cheerful and full of energy.”

Taejongdae's cliffside coast was formed by layers of rock pressed together beneath a lake during the Cretaceous period, and then eroded by the sea over time. The coast has many geological formations, including sea caves and uniquely shaped rocks. Taejongdae Resort Park is named after King Taejong Muyeol (CN 604 - 661), the 29th king of the Silla Kingdom, one of the Three Kingdoms of ancient Korea. After the three kingdoms were unified, the king was said to enjoy archery practice in the park area. The park was officially established in 1967 as one of the 28 designated monuments of Busan. Taejongdae is known for its seascapes and landscapes. Taejongdae is a natural park with lush greenery, including 200 kinds of trees and beautiful coastal cliffs facing the clear blue sea.

The attractions in Taejongdae Park include temples, observatories, lighthouses, numerous cliffs, and even dinosaur trails to visit and enjoy. There are food tents at the edge of the rocks at one point for those who want to stop and recharge while taking in the expansive ocean views. There is a pier where visitors can take a mini cruise ship cruise around the cliffs and see them from the water.

Taejongdae Park has a train named Danubi to carry visitors to 5 main attractions, departing from the pier going to Taejongsa Temple, Observation Deck, Yeongdo Lighthouse, Gumyeongsa Temple and Taewon Jagal Madang. Visitors can board and disembark at the above 5 stops. However, the waiting time at each station can be long. The frequency of the train is about 20-30 minutes depending on the number of passengers. “Danubi” means “contemplation of the landscape” in Korean. These cute, colorful "trains" on wheels stop at three of the park's best attractions. An adult ticket, including all three stops, costs 3000 won (youth 2000 won, child 1500 won) and is valid for three hours (visitors will pay an additional 500 won for every 30 minutes thereafter) . Train ticket offices are open from 9am to 5:30pm, but the last train may depart an hour or two before closing time. Trains may not run in rainy or icy conditions.

Yeongdo Lighthouse is the best place to get a panoramic view of the Park to the sea. When the train arrives at the Lighthouse station, visitors have to go through a long flight of stairs to reach the lighthouse. For those who are traveling with parents or elders, make sure they go slow here as it is quite a long way down the hill, it won't be an easy ride for the elderly and people with knee problems.
