Profile
A wonderful landscaped garden measuring 12,000 square meters, with one rose bush per square meter. The garden was built shortly after the Second World War by a workforce that included demobilized soldiers, between 1945-1946 on the large plot of an elegant mansion. A year later, the city of Geneva initiated The Concours International de roses nouvelles, allowing botanists worldwide to discover different species and award prizes to the most beautiful ones. best.
This garden displays more than 200 varieties of Switzerland's most beautiful roses in a distinctively harmonious architecture: terraces in the form of large stairs of natural stone, look very large when standing next to the pools and trellis outdoor climbing flowers.
Archaeological excavations have unearthed the modest remains of a Roman villa at the far end of the park. During the summer, the park hosts free concerts by bands from around the world. With majestic trees, lush green surroundings and a varied atmosphere, La Grange park is an ideal place for a relaxing walk for locals.
