Mani Bhavan was Mahatma Gandhi's Mumbai headquarters for about 17 years, from 1917 to 1934. The residence belonged to Revashankar Jagjeevan Jhaveri, Gandhi's friend and Mumbai homeowner during this period. Today Mani Bhavan is a museum and historical building dedicated to Gandhi.

Mani Bhavan is associated with Gandhi's involvement in the political struggle or house rule movement, as well as his decision to abstain from drinking cow's milk in protest of the cruel and inhumane practice used to Milking was popular during that period. In 1955, the building was taken over by Gandhi Smarak Nidhi to maintain it as a memorial to Gandhi. It is located at Laburnum Road in the Gamdevi area of Mumbai.

The museum is a place that represents Gandhiji's life year by year, where there are small statues from the beginning until his death. An avatar that gives a more realistic view of how he lived, it offers a cultural experience, a research center, a memorial building with a library, photo gallery and memorabilia .

As we pass through the magnificent corridors, it takes us back to the political struggles organized in India's freedom movement. The photo section in the museum is very informative and can be an invaluable guide for anyone interested in revisiting India's history.

In an auditorium on the first floor of the building, Gandhiji's films were shown and recordings of his speeches played. Seminars, discussions and competitions for schools and colleges are also held in the auditorium. On the second floor of the building, a room, used by Mahatma Gandhi as his living room and workspace, has been maintained.

On the terrace, there is a bronze inscription that says Gandhiji was arrested in January 1932. Visitors can buy Gandhi postage stamps, Gandhian literature, photographs, statues and medals at the museum.
