The Doll Museum is not only a place to display many different types of dolls around the world, the museum is also an interesting shopping place for children. Children flock here more and more, especially on Children's Day.

The Doll Museum was established in Delhi in 1965 by K.Shankar Pillai, a political cartoonist, who collected the first collection. Then became the International Doll Museum which has over 6,500 incredible exhibits from over 85 countries. The museum is divided into two parts, one of these sections is dedicated only to dolls made in India and dolls from some other parts of Asia while the other part displays dolls from many other parts of the world such as the United States, Australia, New Zealand and Europe. Dolls of particular interest are the Boys and Girls festival dolls from Japan, the Queen's Collection replica dolls (from the UK), Maypole Dancers from Hungary, Kabuki and Samurai dolls from Japan, Flamenco dancer from Spain, Female Orchestra from Thailand and Kandy Pehara from Sri Lanka.

The Indian section of the Museum itself has over five hundred dolls dressed in various costumes from all over the country. Among them are 150 types of dolls in Indian costumes created in the museum's workshop. The craftsmen at this workshop create dolls with the utmost perfection that combine body features, costumes and decorations. This workshop is like a clinic that will take care of broken dolls that need to be restored.
