REAL BODIES at Bally's show a profound synergy between breath, hunger, heartbeat, love, movement, and thought that make each person unique.

Each specimen present in REAL BODIES at Bally's is carefully preserved and cherished by a team of experts using a scientific method known as polymer preservation, or plastination. This revolutionary process uses liquid silicone rubber to prevent natural breakdown and follows several steps. First, the specimen is dissected to identify specific anatomical systems and structures. The dissection is soaked in acetone to extract all the body fluids. After dehydration, the test sample was placed in a silicone polymer bath and sealed in a vacuum chamber. In a vacuum, acetone is replaced by the polymer, which then penetrates the sample to the deepest cellular level. Once the silicone polymer hardens, the specimen is permanently preserved, structurally intact, ready for examination and study.
