DALAT Street Biennale

DALAT Street Biennale
Offering unique cultural experiences, Dalat Street Biennale aims to establish Dalat as a hub for multi-disciplinary interactions and exchanges for visual artists.

To promote the image of its people, landscapes, and the essence of Vietnam, with an emphasis on the city's special position in terms of culture and art, the organizers of the Dalat Street Biennale are working to develop Dalat into a global creative city, following UNESCO criteria. Dalat aspires to become a World Heritage City.

Dalat Street Biennale is a special event in a series of programs celebrating the 130th anniversary of the "city of a thousand flowers". Under the theme "City of Arts", the exhibition offers a diverse intersection of arts, including photography, sculpture, painting, installation arts, and outdoor exhibition spaces, enabling viewers to engage with the artworks from various perspectives and lights at different times of day. Attendees can enjoy rotating artistic activities like music performances, street fashion shows, 3D painting, fire painting, sand painting, etc. There will also be weekly themes and discussion forums with artists.

Dalat Street Biennale brings together influential names in the Vietnamese art scene, such as curator Nguyen Nhu Huy, painter Nguyen The Son, visual artist Nguyen Tran Uu Dam, photographers Ly Hoang Long and Thinh Le, artist Phan Quang, sculptors Pham Thai Binh, Vu Binh Minh, and XEM Collective Group, art auctioneer Ly Bich Ngoc, and Dalat photographers Dang Van Thong and Le Dang Ninh.

Organized regularly since 2015, Dalat Street Biennale has contributed to transforming Dalat not only into a tourism destination but also into a significant art center. The program is overseen by the People's Committee of Dalat City in collaboration with Stop And Go Art Space. It is expected to become a biennial cultural and artistic event.

Dalat Street Biennale will extend until May 2024, taking place on Ly Tu Trong Street (Dalat), across 5 zones, primarily active during the weekends. The main zones 2-3-4 will feature exhibitions continuously on a weekly-monthly basis.
