55 Countries & Territories Visa-free for Vietnamese 2025
Now, with a Vietnamese passport, you can freely explore many attractive destinations around the world without worrying about complicated visa procedures. This opens the door to spontaneous trips, saving time and money, bringing you closer to your travel dreams.

Below is a list of countries and territories that are visa-free for Vietnamese citizens, along with maximum length of stay and accompanying conditions (if any), compiled and updated to serve your travel plans:

I. Southeast Asia region:

Countries in the Southeast Asian region are always familiar and easy destinations for Vietnamese tourists thanks to visa exemption policies based on bilateral agreements.

  1. Brunei: Visa exemption for stays up to 14 days.
  2. Cambodia: Visa exemption for stays up to 30 days.
  3. Indonesia: Visa-free for stays up to 30 days. Please note that extensions are not allowed.
  4. Laos: Visa exemption for stays of up to 30 days. Those wishing to enter for more than 30 days must apply for a visa in advance; the stay can be extended up to 2 times, each time for 30 days.
  5. Malaysia: Visa exemption for temporary stay not exceeding 30 days.
  6. Myanmar: Visa-free for stays under 14 days. Passport valid for at least 6 months.
  7. Philippines: Visa exemption for stays under 21 days. Conditions: passport valid for at least 6 months and return ticket or onward ticket to another country.
  8. Singapore: Visa exemption for stays under 30 days. Conditions: have a return ticket or ticket to another country and have the ability to pay during the stay.
  9. Thailand: Visa exemption for stays under 30 days.

II. Other Asian regions

In addition to Southeast Asia, a number of other countries and territories in Asia also have visa exemption policies or convenient border/electronic visas for Vietnamese people.

  1. Taiwan (China): 30-day visa exemption for Vietnamese citizens if they have a valid visa or residence card from the US, Canada, UK, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and the Schengen area (including permanent residence card) and have never worked in Taiwan. Must register online before entering the country.
  2. South Korea: Visa exemption for Vietnamese tourists flying directly from Vietnam to Jeju Island . Tourists who want to visit places outside Jeju need to apply for a Korean visa according to regulations.
  3. Kyrgyzstan: Visa-free, no limit on length of stay and regardless of purpose of entry.
  4. Maldives: Visa on arrival for 30 days. Requirements: return air ticket and hotel reservation confirmation.
  5. East Timor: At the East Timor airport, customs will issue you an entry visa for a fee of 30 USD. Note that you must present a return ticket & 100 USD for each entry. (The 100 USD only needs to be presented, not paid)
  6. Nepal: Visa on arrival for stays of 15 to 90 days. At Kathmandu airport, you need to present 2 passport-sized photos with 1 blank page to get a 90-day visa.
  7. Sri Lanka: You just need to apply for a visa online (E-visa), pay by bank card for the visa fee, wait for the result, print out the confirmation sheet and bring it to the airport to complete the Sri Lanka entry procedures.
  8. Iran: Vietnamese can get a visa at the Iranian border gate, valid for 17 days, at a cost of about 40 Euros. When entering the capital Tehran, you may need to present a photo ID.
  9. United Arab Emirates (UAE): If you use Emirates or Etihad airline tickets to fly from Vietnam to Dubai or Abu Dhabi, you can easily apply for a visa online or through the offices of these two airlines. If you transit in the UAE, you can also buy Stop Over packages of no more than 96 hours including a visa.
  10. Kuwait: visa on arrival.
  11. Oman: 14 days visa free.
  12. Kazakhstan: Visa free.
  13. Kyrgyzstan: Visa-free with unlimited stay and regardless of purpose of entry.
  14. Tajikistan: 45 days visa free.

III. Americas region:

America also has attractive visa-free destinations for Vietnamese tourists.

  1. Barbados: Visa free.
  2. Ecuador: Visa-free for a maximum stay of 90 days for tourism purposes.
  3. Haiti: Visa-free for stays up to 90 days.
  4. Panama : Visa and tourist card exemption for entry for tourism purposes, maximum stay of 180 days.
  5. Dominican Republic: Vietnamese people are allowed to stay here for 30 days.
  6. Saint Vincent and the Grenadines: Visa-free, unlimited stay. Requirements: valid passport, return ticket and proof of financial capacity for the trip.
  7. Turks and Caicos: This territory allows Vietnamese citizens to stay for 30 days. Note that a return ticket is required.
  8. Federated States of Micronesia: 30 days visa exemption.

IV. Africa region:

Some African countries also apply visa exemption or visa issuance policies for Vietnamese citizens.

  1. Burundi: 30-day visas are issued at Bujumbura airport.
  2. Cape Verde: Visa on arrival, unlimited stay.
  3. Federation of Comoros: Visa free.
  4. Djibouti: Visa free.
  5. Guinea-Bissau: 90 days visa free.
  6. Madagascar: 90 days visa free.
  7. Mauritania: Visa free.

  6. Tuvalu: 30 days visa free.

VI. European region

  1. Belarus: Visa exemption with a maximum stay of 30 days per entry, total stay not exceeding 90 days within 1 year.

VII. Countries that issue visas without fees or have preferential policies:

  1. Serbia: 90-day visa exemption if you have a visa to EU and US countries.
  2. Republic of North Macedonia: Visas are issued to Vietnamese citizens with valid passports and are free of charge.
  3. Moldova: Visas are issued to Vietnamese citizens with valid passports and are free of charge.
